Dr. Matthew Link enjoys providing comprehensive care to the orthopedic patient in the CSRA and Augusta community, a region that has become the hub of his educational and professional career. In Greenville, South Carolina, Dr. Link attended Furman University on an ROTC scholarship and graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in economics while also preparing for medical school. He completed medical school at the Medical College of Georgia and distinguished himself with induction into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. Dr. Link’s military service and orthopedic training began with residency at Eisenhower Army Medical Center at Fort Gordon where he continued to care for the region’s military personnel and families. Upon completion of residency, his first assignment was in the Savannah and Hinesville area at Fort Stewart, serving as staff orthopedic surgeon for the Third Infantry Division and Winn Army Community Hospital. During his military career, Dr. Link had the honor to deploy to Afghanistan with the 946th Forward Surgical Team, providing far forward battlefield orthopedic trauma care. In 2014, Dr. Link transitioned out of military service to return to Augusta and join Orthopaedic Associates of Augusta, now Legend Orthopedics. He has developed a comprehensive practice that focuses on compassionate and skilled care for each patient and their orthopedic conditions. He is skilled in arthroscopic treatment of multiple joints including the shoulder, knee and wrist. He treats both upper and lower extremities including a spectrum of hand and wrist disorders. Additionally he provides reconstructive care including knee and shoulder replacement surgery. Dr. Link enjoys the challenge and satisfaction that comes with providing a wide scope of musculoskeletal care to the CSRA community, ranging from helping the young athlete to keeping the aging patient healthy and active.
